David Lynch Inspired Microfiction Workshop: Feb 15th-17th

In this 3-day microfiction workshop inspired by the work of David Lynch, participants will creating micros of 200 words using mystical Lynchian themes and ideas. Before the workshop commences, I will suggest that you re-watch one (or more) of your favorite David Lynch movies, TV episodes, or YouTube clips to fire you up, and to put you back in a Lynchian zone. Lynch was a master of surrealism, neo-noir and American kitsch in cinema. We’ll also be looking (and prompted by) David Lynch’s humorous and macabre paintings.
In this workshop we will be thumbing our noses at the stress of these crazy times we’re living through, and actively looking for the mysticism, intuitive connections, and dark, spooky humor.
The workshop will be held in a private Facebook group. Participants will be creating 3 total stories and sharing them with a group of warm and welcoming peers. As always, will be sending out story models and prompts a few days before we begin.
The workshop will be held asynchronously. I will offer feedback on every story, and others in the group will be encouraged to offer feedback as well. There are no live zoom meetings to attend, nothing time-specific, it is all conducted in a private Facebook group when convenient for each participant. Enrolment links below:
