Today is the book launch for FIRST LAW OF HOLES: NEW AND SELECTED STORIES by Meg Pokrass (Dzanc Books, 2024)

Dear friends, I’m so excited about this book! FIRST LAW OF HOLES: NEW AND SELECTED is a large (250 pages) collection filled with new and “greatest hits” pieces from my flash fiction collections over the last 14 years. What an honor it has been to work with the great Dzanc Books, a press I have admired since I begin writing flash fiction back in 2008.

As I have done with my previous collections, I want to offer everyone who subscribes to my newsletters (both free and paid subscribers) something special: A week-long Facebook group in December where I’ll be posting daily prompts created from story models in the collection, and writers will be able to share their resulting stories.

All you need to do in order to have access to this free work generative group is to purchase FIRST LAW OF HOLES: NEW AND SELECTED STORIES (from an online bookseller or your local bookstore) and to POST A PHOTO OF YOUR OWN COPY of the book anywhere on social media (Facebook, Insta, X, BlueSky, Threads, etc).
