JUNE 1ST-3RD:
Flash fiction can feel bloodless without narrative urgency. Experimenting with anaphora is a great way to create passion and intensity. Repetition of the first part of a sentence for artistic effect enhances the feeling of a character’s emotional angst.
Stories using anaphora successfully create a special relationship between the reader and writer. When well-employed, anaphoric writing is like music in that it imprints sound and an emotion in the mind and ear of the reader.
In this friendly, “low-tech” (no learning platforms or confusing portals, held in my private Facebook group) go-at-your-own-pace workshop, participants will be creating stories of 200 words or far less. The workshop is held asynchronously. There will be prompts and story models. I will offer feedback on every story, and there will be excellent peer feedback.
As always, the workshop will be small and supportive. There are no live zoom meetings to attend, nothing time-specific, it is all conducted in a private Facebook group when convenient for each participant during the 3-day period.
COST £140. But for paid subscribers of this newsletter, the cost is £130
Important: Please be sure to change the amount if you are a paid subscriber of this workshop newsletter!
