3 Stories to Share... (Pushcart Prize and BSF Nominations)
Prompts and exercises based on these 3 stories forthcoming...
Dear friends, I don’t often share my own writing here, but it has been an exceptional week for me, as 2 of of my stories from 2024 were nominated for The Best Small Fictions.
Last month, a story from Fractured Lit (one I feel extremely close to) was nominated for a Pushcart Prize!
I’m going to share those 3 stories below. It would be lovely if you have time to read them. I will be creating prompts from all 3 of these pieces for you in the next few weeks.
Pushcart Prize Nomination: Horsebroken (900 words) from Fractured Lit
Best Small Fiction Nominations:
Inheritance in Midway Journal (320 words) (illustrated by Amy Marques)
Heat-seekers in Identity Theory (180 word)
The illustration below is by Amy Marques.I find it to be deeply magical. It added so much to “Inheritance” I feel. I feel so lucky to have teamed up with Amy.
So Heat-Seekers is full of dread, so masterfully done, Meg. But Housebroken is heart-breaking. Well-deserved nom for that one, for sure.
Powerful stories, well deserving of their recognitions. Congratulations!
